think there's no way anyone at a traditional outlet would have commissioned TLDR as a format for young people. it tackles complex issues that people would assume young people aren't interested in.

older journalists at these outlets trying to target young people assume that they only want like wholesome wellness content and end up making bad content that patronises its target audience and gets no views
@edcmpbl I've never thought about it in depth but, I've watched TLDR pretty much every day since mid 2019. I was already politically engaged but i still pick and choose what pol media aimed at older/wider audiences i watch and its so obviously because its made by and for younger people
@edcmpbl Very glad @TLDRNewsUK & @PoliticsJOE_UK both exists. Both cover slightly different areas of politics which I personally enjoy keeping up to date with whilst out of the UK:)
@edcmpbl I agree it's an important platform. I think it has come on leaps and bounds since launch. It just needs to overcome some accuracy issues that have occurred from, maybe, attempting to over simplify explanations and processes in UK politics.
