A first year law student would be able to tell you that federal government does not have the constitutional jurisdiction to pass a “Renters’ Bill of Rights” and that the power to create rights for renters rests with the provincial jurisdiction. Plus each province already has provincial legislation that creates renter rights, including residential tenancy and consumer protection statutes. This proposed legislation, unless it is optional for the provinces to opt in, will get struck down. If it’s optional, it’s entirely unnecessary and quite pointless. Also, how does this proposed bill actually fix the fact that most people are unable to buy a home? Nothing. It does nothing to actually fix the affordability crisis, except once again overstep their jurisdictional boundaries. Is anyone willing to sponsor a Reconnect to Canada book or course for PMJT and his friends? I think they could use it. 🫣

Thanks BM for some of the content above. 🙏
@echipiuk The courts have already demonstrated that the constitution doesn’t matter. Carbon emissions are a provincial jurisdiction, clearly, but nonetheless the Carbon Tax stands. What are provinces to do when the law is null and void to the activist judges who are to enforce it?
@echipiuk They are grasping at straws and they better make sure they are paper and not plastic!
@echipiuk Thanks for staying on top of all of these important issues @echipiuk It’s like a game of “Whackamole” with @JustinTrudeau - the financial ineptitude and disinformation keep popping up…
@echipiuk And a 12 year old could manage our finances better.
