@dvassallo I'm not going to just sit here and do nothing. Check out out my new profile, Daniel.
@dvassallo Titles are the most overrated/meaningless thing in business. They only exist to give companies something they can give employees instead of more money.
@dvassallo This checks. A VP is pretty much just a senior individual contributor at a bank
@dvassallo It’s like in the mortgage business…everyone is a senior loan officer, even the guy who got his license last week.
In banking, “Vice President” is a fairly laughable title for a junior management level role, thrown at risk averse white collar workers to placate them and make them feel like they are making career progress. It gives a grandiose title and in doing so inflates the ego of the worker, reduces attrition while also enabling the bank to pay them lower pay rises annually as the chase the next title: Director.
@dvassallo And probably 50% or more are “VP” at JPMorgan Chase. It’s kind of meaningless.
@dvassallo @remouherek Keys to the executive washroom and an extra bag of coke.
