As per RBI, daily wage of construction worker in Kerala is highest in country at ₹ 837 in 2021-22. Workers in 59 sectors are protected by Minimum Wages Acts in the state. In Gujarat,at comparable level of per capita income, wage is only ₹296. What a contrast in redistribution!
@drthomasisaac Could you plz also throw some light on following proposition: Almost half of kerala is working in West Asia in blue collar jobs. Compare also the number of people on job in kerala & Gujarat. Simply making an act for protection while creating little jobs makes the act ineffective
@drthomasisaac How many gujjus are in kerala enjoying this higher wage and how many mallus are living in Gujrat?
@drthomasisaac And workers kaun hai Chetta — bengali, odiya or Bihari !! No malli is on daily wages for sure
@drthomasisaac @DearthOfSid Minimum wages are a must. But does such a large difference in daily wages affect employment?
@drthomasisaac Some authentic reply from @vijayrupanibjp @AmitShah @narendramodi ??? Any comment by @nsitharaman @JPNadda @RSSorg ???
@drthomasisaac No thing to feel happy.... See how much real investment is coming How many Malayales r going out for survival What is the cost of living in comparison to Gujarat UR nowhere.....
@drthomasisaac Majority Kerala youths working in private sectors, and they're earning only 6-15k per months in Kerala. Its even after degree or PG graduation. At the same sector, they can get 25-35k in Chennai, Banglore. That's why youths are migrating to other states / country.
@drthomasisaac Yes, but more workers in Gujarat have work while those in Kerala scavenge for work mostly in Arab nations.
@drthomasisaac In paper it's good...thats why all kerala workers run away for job in #Gulf and the local labour's are now from #westbengal and #Bihar working in #Kerala at lesser labour rate.. Neither any industries are interested to On paper it's good..practically ZERO
@drthomasisaac Sir don't compare the Kerala wages rates to other states. That itself wrong.
