I talked with a parent today who said his HS daughter is only allowed to use the restroom twice a month per school policy. The school is struggling to monitor the bathroom behavior & he's had to pick her up from school & take her home to use the restroom, before returning her.
@dperkinsed My boys' high school gives them passes for 10 restroom visits per trimester. Of course, they know I authorize them to go to the restroom whenever necessary, but the rule is only 10. The "good kids" can earn a card at my daughters' school that allows them more visits.
@dperkinsed Wait what? I’m confused. How does this make sense? I’m asking that literally and generously. What is the best argument for this, saying it’s the best that can be done given the circumstances? …
@dperkinsed How can that be legal? I'm sure it's not.
@dperkinsed Trust begets trustworthiness and vice versa. I do not police my students' private bathroom use. That is demeaning. If any abuse my trust and use it as a social center, then we talk about how that might require me treating them like people who abuse freedom and trust.
