The #Steelers completely rebuilt their QB room at little cost in terms of draft capital. That and more in my latest 5 for Friday. 5 for Friday: Low-risk, high-reward total makeover steelers.com/news/steelers-…
@dlolley_pgh IMO the 2 7th rd picks in 2025 from the eagles in the Kenny Pickett trade make up for the loss of the 2025 6th rd pick in the Justin Fields trade. Do U agree? No net loss, a 6th vs a 7th rd player usually isn't much difference.
@dlolley_pgh I understand the bargains both offer. But neither fits A. Smith’s scheme of throwing down the middle. In fact they’re 2 of the worst at that. And both turn the ball over way too much and take sacks which is in stark contrast of Pit football. 2 very bizarre moves despite the $
@dlolley_pgh 1) I disagree that these were low risk moves. Little draft and financial capital risk, but there are other types of capital. Time, reputation, and opportunity most of all. If this doesn’t work, you enter 2025 with no answers at QB, wasted opportunities, and a damaged reputation.
@dlolley_pgh @steelers They better find someone to catch the ball
@dlolley_pgh @steelers You can still draft a back up for Fields to have if they move on from Wilson in 2025 or its just a good idea to have 3 QB for any team after 2023 QB chaos
