The countdown’s on: FX 2-Division opens in 100 days! 🎉 🚌
FX 2-Division opens in 100 days! 🤩 👉 Bigger buses with room for 60% more riders 👉 Service every 12 minutes 👉 All-door boarding for quicker stops 👉 20% faster trips between Downtown Portland and Gresham 👉 Space on board for bikes
Line 2 riders: This starts on Sunday at the 82nd, 93rd (MAX Green Line) and 122nd avenue stations!
Visit the webpage to learn how riders, bicyclists and pedestrians will use them. 👇 trimet.org/division/stati…
And with room for 60% more riders!
We’re often asked, “How will the FX buses fit on Division Street?” The new "bendy" buses are 20-feet longer than our "regular" buses, but they're the same width. They have a narrower wheelbase, making them more nimble. Watch how they operate around tight turns with ease. 👇
The work Affordable Electric is doing will keep people safe and benefit our community. 👍
Meet Jean-Wildy Malary. His firm, Affordable Electric, is helping to electrify the Division Transit Project. They're one of dozens of minority-owned firms that have worked on the project. 🔌🧰
We added new sidewalks and crossings, and improved existing ones, to make Division safer for everyone.
For a long time, much of Division Street has been unfriendly and dangerous to anyone not traveling by car. With Division Transit Project, we've worked with @PBOTinfo to install new crossings and sidewalks, and improve existing ones.
We’re opening in six months! 👇
It’s March! Just six months until the start of TriMet FX service on Division Street 🎉🎉🎉 Get the details on the faster and more reliable service (and the green articulated buses) Division Transit Project is bringing this September 👇 trimet.org/fx/
Heads up, Line 2 riders: Starting this Sunday, we’re opening more of the project’s platforms to improve access to safer crossings. This video shows how to use the platforms at 20th Avenue eastbound and westbound, 26th Avenue westbound and 112th Avenue eastbound. 👇
Heads up, Line 2 riders. We’re opening a few more Division Transit Project platforms this Sunday, so they can serve Line 2 buses. These stations may look a little different than typical bus stops, but they work pretty similarly.
Here are several of the improvements we’ve made on Division to make it safer for all users. ⬇️
Division Transit Project is remaking Division as a safer road for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers. New center medians are preventing left turns in dangerous locations and protected intersections will make crossing the road easier in East Portland.
Here are four of the new articulated buses that we'll use on the new FX route when service begins in September! 👇
Our bendy bus fleet is growing 🎉 These are the first four of the 31 articulated buses that will run on Division. You'll be able to ride in one when TriMet FX service starts this September – less than eight months from now 🗓️
With construction wrapping up, we’re starting to test stations’ lighting.👇
Big Division Transit Project milestone: We lit up a full station for the first time 💡 As we enter 2022, the construction phase is winding down and we're moving into testing and setting things up for the launch of TriMet FX service this (!) September.
This is part of the approximately 4.5 miles of protected bike lanes being installed as part of the project.
Checking in at 122nd Avenue, where crews are building the curb line for the protected bike lane, which will allow people on bikes to ride more safely through the intersection. 🚲
Will the articulated buses be able to make tight turns? (spoiler: Yes!) Watch the video to see how they're just as maneuverable as a "regular" 40-foot bus. 👇
The first time someone sees one of our articulated buses, they often ask us, “How is that massive bus going to be able to turn on our tight streets?” So, we put it to the test. We made as tight a turn as we could with a “regular” 40-foot bus and with a 60-foot articulated bus.
We’re grateful for the amazing work being done by Mainstream Landscaping, Neyda’s Landscape Maintenance and Precision Landscaping Services. Thanks for creating so many beautiful spaces along the corridor!
For @DivisionTransit, three local landscaping firms owned by people of color are using their skills to make Division Street more vibrant and colorful than ever 🌳 🌺 Here's what they had to say about working on the project ⬇️
Division Street has a grown a lot since it was called Section Line Road. We’re excited to be part of its evolution as we keep people moving for many years to come. 👇
🎥 A History of Division Street Learn how Division evolved from the rural Section Line Road to the diverse and bustling Division Street we know today. Also: Why Division never had streetcars and how we chose the street for our first TriMet FX line. youtu.be/bIMF0fqr9pU
Crews from Advanced Tribal, LLC added signage and glass to the 148th Avenue westbound station shelter last Friday. They’re one of the many Disadvantaged Business Enterprise firms working on the project. 🎉😃
There are so many amazing businesses on Division. Saint and Sinners is one them. ⬇️
Division Street is home to so many unique and special businesses, like Saint and Sinners. @divisiontransit and the fall 2022 launch of TriMet FX will make it easier for everyone to get to them. Learn more about the businesses up and down Division 👉 trimet.org/division/possi…
Crews installed these tactile pavers at the 87th Ave westbound station recently. The textured strips alert people in mobility devices and vision-impaired riders of crossings and boarding areas at stations.
Division Transit Project construction is now more than 75% complete. Here are some 📷 of what we've been working on recently.
