While Indexes are our time saviours for read operations, as I said, it is expensive for insert, delete, and update operations. 1. Don’t use indexes for small tables 2. Cols with low selectivity, like if a col has true -> 99% and false -> 1% no use here
Covering Index -> basically, if you do the indexing on a particular column but you want other column values after filtering, you can use a covering index Syntax: create index index_name on table_name(col_name) include (col_name2, col_name3);
