NZ Netball is already investigating resurrecting a trans-Tasman domestic competition w Australia. Former players & coaches have suggested the Silver Ferns poor performance at the World Cup was due in part to the quality of the of the ANZ Premiership. rnz.co.nz/news/sport/495…
@della79 It is in fact due to the quality of the ANZ premiership. All the restrictions they have cause that as well. Invite more international players and add 2 more teams 🤷🏽♂️
@della79 Definitely not having international players to muscle up against week in and out has exposed them, whilst 2019 team had highly experienced legends in their team with vast knowledge of playing individuals and teams. Be the best then play the best.
@della79 There’s plenty of time in the calendar for a separate provincial international tournament.
@della79 I feel the WC2019 SF team was successful despite the stoppage of the ANZ championships is because half of the players in that starting 7 played in Aussie (Meels, Maria, LL, Rore).
@della79 I was wondering the same thing myself as NZ hasn’t been the same since this happened.
@della79 @footyindustryAU @superebelsrugby throw this into the negotiations as well
@della79 Far more expensive to run a trans Tasman league given extra travel. Why would aus want to give a leg up to one of our main rivals
@della79 Interestingly the links between GC Titans and NZ are so strong it might be a neat way to fast track an extra franchise.
