@jbyerly81 @peterwsinger You assumed that would help? Calling out disinformation with facts is the only proven method of stopping disinformation and even then, it's easy to say the truth is a lie. Not to be pessimistic but we need more than education in high school - we need consequences.

It's not enough to know something bad is happening on social media - you have to be poised to have a timely response. Your organization can't afford to have this gap. If you do not resource appropriately, you will fail - at some point - and fail hard.

Content for? What are you doing with photos and video? Media outlets don’t want to use our stuff if they don’t have to. We need to rethink who our target audience is when considering international and domestic threats. This is goes back to why do you communicate?

So you aren't arguing for strategic-level thinkers in the foreign policy sense, but rather "big-picture for your organization" sense. Which I would argue requires content and those who can produce it.

@DebRich22377713 I’ve never shied away from speaking candidly to my senior leaders, from the SMA to the Co XO, and have been blessed with great leaders (green tabbers) who listened to and trusted me, a SNCO. My experiences + your concepts are the exception and not the norm in our Army.

You don’t play ball with the commander. A PAO is special staff and they need a relationship with their commander - then things like flyer requests don’t happen. Always be messaging what we do and how we enable our organizations to protect the homeland. Relationships first.

@PatrickMalone84 @UknowDaRest Strategic experience friend is not a guarantee of all deployments. I’ve worked with a lot of PAOs who had deployed previously but couldn’t keep up in a strategic atmosphere. Rank is irrelevant in many career fields but especially this one.

Deploying doesn’t equate to experience. We need strategic thinkers at all levels. The rank structure is archaic and pointless in all career fields outside of combat arms (IMO). But what does it take to get critical thinkers capable of taking initiative and acting decisively?

Content needs are a joke, BTW. We don’t need to produce anything. We want to because we like having metrics for OER and NCOER bullets and to prove to supervisors that we’re doing something. We don’t need tangible products for either.

MTOE reductions + content needs/wants + DIY mentality = Os shooting and producing. Who ducks/hides deployments? I’ve literally told Nate to put me in the next unit going 🤷🏻‍♂️🙃.
