@derwentlondon, can you check if the farmer/Caledonian Estates gave permission? These folks always chop the trees at nesting time. We used to have a lovely line of willows & other trees along the loch - and young birds

Dear councils, 97% of meadows are gone. So please, this year, when the wildflowers return to the verges and our public spaces, don't poison them or over-mow them. Let them grow as a lifeline for insects like bees, butterflies and hoverflies 🐝
And just like last year, just as the birds were nesting, someone has cut down all the new growth. Sad day for wildlife, but great that East Gadloch Farm residents have a good view.
