a complete thread (🧵) on eric nam’s zionism and zionist connections AND the most effective way to let your voices be heard to demand a recast for aang #BoycottATLAMovie
many have defended nam in our qrts and replies by stating that his post was meant to be “neutral.” taking a “neutral” stance on the palestinian genocide means to be pro-israel. we will link resources at the end to educate yourself on why this post’s stance is considered zionism
when he announced the asian dates to his world tour, nam was met with rightful backlash by malaysian fans for liking that “neutral” post. when he didn’t speak up, they asked him not come to their country. he deleted the tweet & removed Kuala Lumpur from his tour schedule.
initially, he ignored the backlash and didn’t comment. then he posted a statement further solidifying his neutral stance about the genocide in palestine, and said that due to threats, he "made the difficult decision to cancel the show" in malaysia.
malaysia is extremely pro-palestine. his lack of speaking up at the request of his fans, his lack of interest to educate himself on the genocide, and FINALLY him quietly cancelling the tour date reaffirms that his priorities will not be with palestine and his pro-palestine fans.
if that isn’t enough to convince you already - both of his companies, dive studio and mindset, are supported by zionist investors. one of those prominent investors is scooter braun, a RAGING ZIONIST with direct links to the israeli government.
this thread (which we used as reference) explains perfectly well scooter’s braun raging zionism. it doesn’t get more pro-genocidal than scooter braun and having connections to scooter braun.

why eric nam’s casting as aang is disrespectful and tone-deaf: aang is a genocide survivor. the fictional genocide of the air nomads, based off the real life massacre of tibetans by the chinese government, has very real similarities to the Palestinian genocide.
not only is it extremely deplorable to cast someone who is pro-genocide to voice a genocide survivor, but aang is also based off the monastic cultures of southeast and south asia, specifically tibet. why the fuck was a kpop star with no voice acting experience casted?
