Wow... just minutes after posting this, my mother's whole house shook in upstate NY. 4.7 earthquake outside NYC. Shook the buildings! Synchronicity!!! I think it's telling me I will be fine. A 'boo,' but no big deal.

I have to admit, "isn't it interesting" that this "Very Odd Disaster" is precisely ruining the two best live-streaming days for me, IMMEDIATELY before the eclipse? I may do a show on Monday if things are calm enough.

We are now a half-hour to when the power is deliberately cut to prevent fires. I'm filling the tub with water and super-heating the downstairs bedroom with the door closed. Thanks for all the (ahem) warm wishes!

They cut our power at a Matrix-appropriate 3:03 pm. We have decent sunlight so I am keeping certain blinds open to get that passive heat system. The house is holding heat well. I have two generators. It should be good!

We have a very real wind disaster going on up here now! They are cutting our power off at 3PM, in 27 degrees cold wind, and won't turn it on again until noon tomorrow. I'm probably going to need to wear winter clothes indoors! I will be fine, but wow!

Just as a friendly update: We are out of power until noon tomorrow in very high winds. The house is holding its temperature well. I heated the downstairs room before the power went off and it is very nice in there. I'm going in! Keep your prayers high for a smooth eclipse!

I'm up after my first sleep cycle. I've never felt the house this cold! Thankfully it will all be over soon. This is quite the blackout challenge! Thanks for all your support! At least I don't have to worry about the items in the refrigerator warming up!

Just as an update, there are still massive outages all over Boulder and outlying regions. We still have no solid updates on when this will turn around. I've got everything covered and it's like the 1800s, but with a solar generator and a fireplace!
