What's a song that instantly brings back fond memories of someone who has passed on or is no longer in your life and what are those memories?
@courosa Ave Maria, my Nona. For a couple years it was every other weekend spent with her. Taught me Spanish, after 6 Fridays only Spanish. Had 1st drink with her. Taught me chess. She spoke 8 languages and lived la dolce vita!
@courosa Willie Nelson’s Album Red Headed Stranger. My dad used to put on side A of the cassette and it would play on an endless loop as we traveled the countryside on family vacations. Any attempt to plead to change the song only resulted in him turning up the volume. God I miss him.
@courosa This one .My mom died in 1991 and a year after, this song was on the charts. I was in the parking lot of Shopper's Drug Mart when it came on the car radio, on her anniversary. I was crying too much to go into the store. And I hadn't cried in a year. youtu.be/JxPj3GAYYZ0
@courosa Ashokan Farewell youtu.be/uZmxZThb084 Sad because we lost her unexpectedly. Happy because of all the love she gave. She like I, loved the violin.
@courosa What A Wonderful World. Danced to this as the father-daughter dance at my wedding. My children sang it at their grandpa’s funeral. youtu.be/CWzrABouyeE
