@jessuppi @therepositorywp Unfortunately, due to potential threats to reputation/livelihood, we had to do these initial parts privately. Even after announcing it, there are some who did contribute to FAIR but can't be named publicly. For them and us, that stings. So glad most could go public today!

@dukeo @photomatt Even if he believed it, he read the sentence and cut it to support his claim that Joost was staging a coup. He knows Joost wasn't saying that. Victims tell facts, they don't willingly disregard them. Deliberately misquoting is lying, not a victim defending themselves with truth.

Just replying to clarify that this was done by Matt and a small number in his circle. It didn't have the support of the rest of those who develop WordPress Core. We found out when everyone else did.

@omukiguy @rmelogli Until/unless the situation changes, it's up to those still contributing to make those improvements, if they have time. There's loads of "could have been there from v1". We just can't deliver everything at once in Core or it'd never get past review/testing. Hope to get back soon.

@omukiguy @rmelogli Sadly, those also on the Plugin Dependencies feature team have paused their Core contributions due to recent actions against the community. Not sure if/when we'll be able to get back to work since Matt's refusing to change tact. We planned to make lots of improvements like this.

@WordPress This is quite distasteful to see from the main WordPress account. There's no need to diss other very well-known, legitimate, and longstanding distributors in the ecosystem. It's not like .org has never issued a security update for serious vulnerabilities in plugins and themes.

@SteveStruemph @abpcontent @SarahSavagePHP @photomatt Its non-sexual definitions contain synonyms that are sufficient to convey a clear non-sexual sentiment. IMO, that word was chosen for its multi-faceted meaning. Regardless, I don't think it was appropriate to use it on an official account.
