insane that jails getting away with this is by far the norm and not the exception. then again, a lot them do the same thing denying inmates insulin, heart medicine, immuno-suppressives to prevent organ transplant rejection, etc definition of cruel and inhumane.
and its like what’s your best case for justice. your family eventually getting a ten grand payout after you die.
@conzmoleman A friend of mine had to fight to get the meds he was on after open heart surgery.
@conzmoleman Yep I've seen county jails do this with methadone and even benzos, it's absolutely insane that they can get away with this. Federal prison was much better about this thankfully. One of the reasons I will never touch methadone, subs only.
@conzmoleman My wife used to be a local pharmacist and where we are, that means you dole out people’s methadone in the shop. Withdrawal is very real and really dangerous
@conzmoleman my dad was in jail and they refused to take him to his medical appointments at the local hospital. his cellmate dropped on the yard because they wouldn’t give him insulin and was in a coma for a bit.
@conzmoleman My cousin went to jail for a minor charge and came out in a body bag a few days later because of withdrawal. Happened last year. Can’t imagine how many others in us jails have been victims of medical neglect
@conzmoleman there’s a very specific set of acts you can avoid doing if you don’t want to suffer this, and it rhymes with “time”
