@kevhof52 @jeffsaintjohn True if pushing dirty marginal energy. Untrue if decentralized at the edge and eating carbon. The cleanest energy of all is not using it in the first place. Which is why it’s totally absurd not to invest every dollar into shrinking our grid by 50% before new gen is added 👎🤯

@BryceJohanneck DERs should either serve the grid via ISO markets and economic dispatch OR serve to island the load and remove it from the grid entirely to free up capacity of existing infra. .

@jeffsaintjohn Classical hammer looking for nail. Sustainability advocates should want the least amount of new development and infrastructure possible. That’s called energy efficiency. Until every available $ has squeezed out every available kWh, these are all absurdities.

@BryceJohanneck Welcome to the “not so smart grid”. Least common denominator is usually at the lowest layers in the stack. If the foundation is cracked then it doesn’t matter how fancy your house is. Look at financial structures. Connectivity is opex and can’t get based. New regs needed.

@BryceJohanneck 100%. It takes load off the grid and reduces the need for energy and T&D. We are about to dramatically expand the load shifting to EV’s so if you can get all the load off the grid and you can manage EV’s as generators then you save a massive spend on new infrastructure.

@BryceJohanneck @TomasSingliar In the engineering world “perceptible realtime” is considered around 300ms. Possible to send a control signal well within this. And we can accurately measure pulses on our wireless transmitters down to about 30Hz. The time send out a wireless telegram about 10ms. But nanoseconds?

@BryceJohanneck >50% of all energy consumed in the world is wasted. How much energy is wasted setting an induction or resistive stove to maximum setting to boil your water fastest? If setting to 60% it only takes 20% longer. Not 40%, due to less inefficiency spillages! People need data!

@business Did you make any research about how ITC and renewable energy tax incentives could stimulate the growth of renewable powered mining operations? There are thoughts in the industry that it’s very possible to have highly renewable mining operations. This could be one way to grow.
