It's been a while since I've had something I feel passionate enough to write a thread about but this morning's column does it 1/8

Politicians get so paralyzed by this idea of the will of the people that they forget to lead. 2/8

Let elections be a reflection of the people's will. Especially commissioners. You have four year terms, lead in the meantime 3/8

The Depot District in Inverness is a great example of how the public will make projects their own if officials take action 4/8

The live music, the extensive use of the playground and the teenagers adopting Wallace Brooks as a favorite hangout all matter 5/8

They matter because, while they may have been planned peripheral spinoffs, they have truly come to define the area in a great way. 6/8

The same could be done for Beverly Hills on a much smaller scale. Even a fountain could make a big difference. 7/8

But it all starts with having the will to act and the trust in the public to make your decisions their own. 8/

Today's column may be off putting to some people who have a different stance than me on the integrity of the 2020 election 1/10

And that's okay. That's the whole point of the column. Although if there was one thing I would have stressed more it's this: 2/10

Absolutes are necessary in certain situations. 3/10

My tolerance of conflicting convictions on election security comes from an inability to conclusively prove my side 4/10

But there are things that I think can be conclusively proven. 5/10

Many people on both sides of this issue will tell you they have conclusive proof. 6/10

I wish the column had room to do would be to recognize that one person's opinion on one issue is not a reflection of who they are 7/10

Too often we're turned off by the most superficial of stances. And I'm as guilty of this as anyone 8/10

Oh the Chamber of Commerce supports it? Count me on the other side of it. Or at least it has felt that way. 9/10

So this stuff isn't easy, but I'm trying to change for what I feel will be the better and encourage others to do the same. 10/10

Column tomorrow will center around the primary results in GA and how that relates to the BOCC's position on Turnpike Extension

Only made it through half the workshop and haven't watched any of the commission meeting yesterday. Playing catch up here.
