@zatzi No - use the bottom of the trouser legs as turn-ups. No white lines when you let them down either! I pair of J.L. Trousers lasted my two boys for 5 years!!!! I also reinforced the knees with grey patches on the inside of the trouser legs! Good luck!

@RetirementTales I 'found' this mental arithmetic teachers' manual amongst our books. According to Prof Google it was in use from 1905 - 1910. The measurements were imperial and skimming through it, those of us of a certain age, would be able to answer many of the questions!

@RetirementTales Victor and Victrix Ludorum at sports day. 'Under the table' got told I was cynical when I asked a lecturer who was showing a film with half a dozen perfect children in a classroom doing the latest fad in a Maths lesson! I asked what the other 30 were doing? I got thumbs up!

@RetirementTales 2. Compulsory lisle stockings and suspenders at my Convent boarding school in the 1950s My mother had to fasten them the first time 🤣🤣 Stories of the Saintsnly books we could read on Sunday! Weren't allowed to see on Sunday as we would pick the stitches out with our noses!
