The scarcity of mental health resources, with only 41 psychiatrists serving a population of over 12.5 million, further exacerbates the crisis. Instead of introducing cinemas, addressing mental health issues is more important. The data compiled by “global digital rights group access now and the Keep It On coalition shows that of the 187 internet shutdowns recorded worldwide, 84 took place in India.
