Gibraltar, and reviewing the Brexit 'bill of goods'. New post on my Brexit & Beyond Blog. With reports of an imminent deal, a look at the Gibraltar issue & how it contains lessons which continue to play out across the entirety of the ongoing Brexit process chrisgreybrexitblog.blogspot.com/2024/04/gibral…
@chrisgreybrexit “This isn’t about picking around in the entrails of long-past events. It is about promises made to the British people less than a decade ago, & made by people many of whom are still active in political life.” And as you rightly remind us “bases in Cyprus” is still a live issue.
@chrisgreybrexit Grey demonstrates once again while he is the master at explaining the complexities, difficulties and time-consuming nature of Brexit in words that the common citizen can understand.
@chrisgreybrexit BTW, How is Brexit affecting the Falklands? There were concerns before 2020, but I have not heard anything since
@chrisgreybrexit Thank you. This was very interesting as always - but also for some of the reminders of the insanity of the time - war with Spain!!! It's like they were drunk but now they are sobering up (at least gone a bit quiet!) and we are all suffering the hangover
@chrisgreybrexit Another upstanding weekly note from Chris.
@chrisgreybrexit Thanks for raising this. I live in Málaga province and this issue is another Little Englander item swept under the carpet.
@chrisgreybrexit @mrjamesob should consider giving this some air time
@chrisgreybrexit Great post! Was interesting to see the forceful, negative reaction to UdvL "18-30 visa" suggestion. Easy to forget leadership in both parties rode to power in the wake of a hard, nationalist #Brexit. Puts joining most EU bodies (esp SM/CU) out of reach for a decade or more imo.
