The push for Neuralink, despite its motor-cortex limitations, aims to extract human motor control data for Tesla's Optimus, promising minor HMI enhancements in exchange for significant brain data. The narrative of enhancing human capabilities to compete with AI is only marketing.
@chloe21e8 I know this is just memeing, so apologies for the sincere response, but it is really important to understand how much of a difference neuralink will make in the lives of people with ALS and other severe disabilities.
@chloe21e8 That robot is going to be excellent at tickling!
@chloe21e8 this is the best take on neuralink i've found
@chloe21e8 feel it's less about competition and more about alignment...so i agree the narrative is only for marketing if focus is on competition, but not the case if focus is on alignment
@chloe21e8 you think? you couldn’t see a avenue where it becomes better and better and we’re able to compete or atleast not be irrelevant to agi/asi?
@chloe21e8 Need a car driven by a Cheetah
We’ve found that our knowledge representation must overlap significantly with what the brain actually does - this would enable a human bridge to AGI. Assuming this tech passes the moral bar, you’d have direct information exchange between the human brain and a superintelligent system.
