A lot of folks jumped into my comment section last night to call Jeff Hartman of All American Hot Dogs in Cumberland County a liar, question whether Tractor Supply would throw a guy off their property for being a Trump supporter, and accuse me of being reactionary. Let’s address that. Is Jeff Hartman a liar? I don’t know him and can’t speak to his character. I checked his public Facebook accounts. Neither has many followers. His personal account isn’t filled with political posts or rants. His business account has zero political posts. Photos of his cart setup depict no political messaging. This aligns with what Jeff said in his video. What about Tractor Supply? Would they really boot a guy off their property for being a conservative? Folks have short memories. In 2024, Tractor Supply had a DEI policy, a climate change policy, and funded left-wing voting campaigns and social activities—all against their customer base’s values. That would have continued without Robby Starbuck. Notice the company hasn’t addressed these concerns on X? Don’t expect them to. They stopped using their X account a while back. As for me being reactionary? You’re damn right. Memories are short. Less than a year ago, I went mega viral after my daughter and I got a tongue-lashing because I dared to wear a Charlie Kirk shirt in public. I had no idea that post would leave my small X following. Next thing I knew, my face was splashed across the world stage. People called me a liar. The Daily Mail said they’d interviewed me but never reached out. They cherry-picked my X feed in an attempt to smear me. My community called them out in the comments. I received death threats. It turned my whole world upside down. So yeah, I believe Jeff. I have no reason not to. Yup, I hope Tractor Supply suffers for this. And yes, I am reactionary about the way conservatives are treated. Zero apologies.
Tractor Supply bans a hot dog vendor for supporting Trump. Learned nothing from Bud Light or Cracker Barrel. Go woke, go broke, again. Rural America is watching.
MIC DROP!🎤 Elon: “The fact, as you pointed out, is that a quarter billion people follow me. I think a lot more people actually like me than don’t, and I think a lot more people hate you and the media more than you realize.”
🚨 BREAKING: Victor Davis Hanson Drops a Fiery Truth Bomb! 🔥 “We didn’t storm the beaches of Normandy… didn’t bleed and die in the trenches of World War I… didn’t sacrifice everything in World War II… JUST TO BE LECTURED BY NEWCOMERS on why America is ‘racist’ and ‘flawed’!” Do you think Hamilton and Jefferson fought and died for YOU? 250 years of American blood—from Gettysburg to Belleau Wood to Iwo Jima—only for first- and second-generation arrivals to march in and declare: “Your Constitution is garbage. The Founders were racists. When we take power, we’re tearing it all down.” ENOUGH. This is OUR country. We built it. We defended it with our lives. If you come here, assimilate—or go home. What do YOU think, America? Drop your thoughts below! 👇 @VDHanson #AmericaFirst #NoMoreLectures #DefendTheFounders
In Arizona I drove to the edge of the earth. The Grand Canyon. It was the first time in my life I had nothing to say. A ranger in a flat hat told me the rock at the bottom is two billion years old. I asked who this belongs to. "Everyone. It's a national park." I paid thirty-five dollars. For thirty-five dollars I received two billion years of earth, a sunset that was being painted while I watched, and a parking spot. In my country the most beautiful garden belongs to the emperor. In this country the most beautiful canyon belongs to a family in matching t-shirts eating trail mix out of a Ziploc bag. They were taking a photograph. The mother said "everybody say GRAND CANYON" and they said it and it echoed and I think the canyon said it back. Thirty-five dollars. Two billion years. Everybody. This country is out of its mind and I am never leaving.
The World Cup ends today. One game left. By tomorrow most of you visitors will be packing up, heading to the airport, going home. So before you go, let me say the thing I actually want to say. A few weeks ago I wrote a silly post about all the things you were discovering here. Free refills. Free water. Ice like civilized people. Chips and salsa before you even order. Air conditioning that is a fact and not a moral debate. Drive-throughs. Ranch by the gallon. The Germans standing in the HEB meat aisle in reverent silence, finally understanding why we do not have trains. Buc-ee’s, for which there are still no words. It blew up, because it was true, and because you were so delightfully stunned by all of it. Even the Wall Street Journal caught on. Their headline this week: how the US lost the World Cup and won over the world. We did not lift the trophy. But apparently we lifted something else. We even learned a few things about ourselves along the way. Like the fact that Elon Musk, the single richest man on the planet, shops at HEB. Just rolls in and queues up for fresh tortillas with everybody else. The man could buy the tortilla company, the state it is in, and the moon it sits under, and instead he is standing in line at the hot-tortilla counter like the rest of us, because that is where the good ones are. Only in America is the wealthiest human alive elbow to elbow with a mom of four at the salsa bar. That is the whole country in one aisle. And here is the part I want every one of you to hear on your way out the door. None of it was a show. We did not roll all this out because you were coming. The ice was always there. The refills were always free. The grocery stores were always the size of aircraft hangars at ten on a Tuesday. The stranger who adopted your whole section, the guy who gave you a ride, the waitress who remembered your order, the family that invited you to the cookout, that is not World Cup America. That is just America. That is Tuesday. We are exactly like this when nobody is visiting. Loud, generous, ridiculous, overfed, and genuinely thrilled you came. We will still be exactly like this tomorrow when the stands are empty and the flags come down. So thank you. To everyone who came, who sang in our streets, who cleaned our stadiums, who turned our cities orange and filled our bars and taught us your chants. You were wonderful guests, and you made a country that just turned 250 feel young and seen and loved. And to everyone who could not make it this time, the door does not close today. We meant all of it. Come whenever. The porch light stays on, the fridge stays full, and there is always room for one more at the table. You found out who we are these last few weeks. Good news. We are like this all the time. Safe travels home. Y’all come back now, you hear. 🦋
WATCH: Bodycam video captures the emotional moment a missing dog was reunited with her family after nearly 10 days apart. Fig ran away after being frightened by Fourth of July fireworks and gunfire, sparking an anxious search by her owners. After a missing dog report was filed, Tulare County Sheriff's deputies found her in less than 24 hours. The heartwarming reunion shows Fig finally back where she belongs—with the family who never gave up hope.
🚨WOW!!! A mother suffered a medical emergency going 60mph, totally unresponsive, with her little boy strapped in the backseat... ...a total stranger saw what was happening and used HIS OWN CAR to pin her SUV against the barrier and bring it to a stop, SAVING THEIR LIVES!!! His name is Paul Jackson. On Tuesday, Paul was driving down I-5 near Fife when he saw a white SUV cut across THREE lanes of traffic and start bouncing off the concrete divider... Over and over. He pulled up next to it and looked inside. The driver was out cold, eyes rolled back in her head, completely unresponsive at highway speeds. In the backseat he saw a TERRIFIED little boy strapped into his car seat. "Somebody had to do something." So Paul did what almost nobody would do: he used his own car to gently pin her SUV against the barrier and slowly squeezed it to a stop. He slowly and carefully... glided her car to safety. Then he jumped out, threw the car in park, got the little boy to safety, and stayed with the mother until EMTs arrived. Paul was on his way to pick up his wife's BIRTHDAY CAKE when all this happened. He sent her pictures from the scene as proof he wasn't making up an excuse for being late. 😂 "Had to have proof for my wife." When asked why he did it, Paul didn't hesitate: "God put me there to do that, I knew I was going to stop this vehicle no matter what." THIS IS THE AMERICA I KNOW!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Straight to prison.
How the plot thickens… Kaitlyn Tracey—the Canadian who attacked an underage girl celebrating the 4th of the July, while on an expired visa and in the USA illegally—is clearly seen on video here striking the girl wearing what appears to be an America 250 shirt and blue shorts.
ATTENTION EVERYONE IN MEMPHIS TENNESSEE Tamboli's Pasta & Pizza REFUSED to serve four members of the Tennessee National Guard. This is the owner, Miles Tamboli. Would be a shame if everyone in the area knew they kicked out US servicemembers!
Kaitlyn Tracey is a criminal illegal alien from Canada who was charged with simple assault, neglect of a child, compounding crime, and harassing communication. She allegedly struck a teenage girl wearing pro-Trump memorabilia on a boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach during 4th of July weekend. She was arrested by the Point Pleasant Beach Police department who facilitated a controlled transfer into ICE custody, where she will remain pending her immigration proceedings. She entered the United States on April 14, 2024, on a visa set to expire on September 6, 2024. In violation of our nation’s laws, she overstayed her visa and failed to depart.

🚨 NOW: Sec. Marco Rubio just said it PERFECTLY in front of dozens of global officials on leftist terrorism "You are here because two weeks ago, a 72-year-old woman was BURNED on over 80% of her body in her own home, in Greece, and she died, executed by a fire bomb because her daughter dared to stand for office!" "Far-left political terrorism is NOT a recent day modern novelty. It is NOT a fiction manufactured by conservative politicians." "For most of the modern era, it was in fact the DOMINANT form of political violence." "You are here today because for five days this winter, the lights went out in Berlin. The longest blackout in the city since the Second World War sparked by an attack that left tens of thousands of households without power in the freezing cold and left an 83-year-old woman dead." "You are here and you came because a month after that Berlin blackout, a French 23-year-old succumbed to traumatic brain injuries beaten to death on the streets of Lyon by a group of far-left militant thugs." "You are here because your political leaders are being attacked and stabbed and shot in your streets — because your businesses have been bombed, because your railways have been sabotaged, because your police officers have been beaten and burned!"' "You are here because this is real and it is getting worse and it can no longer be denied and it can no longer be ignored because it is time to crush this evil forever!"
There is a diner in the Tennessee mountains where a little girl showed me a book. She could not have been six. She held it the way grown men hold the deed to a house. A thin paperback. The cover soft and bent from love. A cartoon bear. I asked her, to be kind, if it was a good book. She said, "The Book Lady sent it. She sends me one every month. She knows my name." Then she went back to her pancakes, as if she had not just described something impossible. I could not let it go. All through breakfast I turned it over. A woman who knows the names of small children, sends them books, and asks for nothing. In my country she would have a shrine. Incense. One clean day a year when the town remembers her. I decided the Book Lady must be a gentle fiction. A story mothers invent, the way we tell children the old mountain is watching, so they behave. I was wrong. The Book Lady is real. She is the most famous woman in the state. Her name is Dolly. I made errors. In a hardware store I called her "your empress." The man thought about it honestly and said, "Close enough." I asked a waitress if Dolly was still living. She set down the coffee pot with great care. "Honey, Dolly will outlive us all, and then she will send flowers to the funerals." Then they told me the thing, all of them, in the flat voice this country keeps for facts too large to raise the voice for. Dolly grew up one of twelve children, in a one-room cabin, in these same mountains. Her father could not read a word his whole life. So she built the thing that sends the books. Not the clever children. Not the deserving ones. Every child who signs up, from birth until they start school, free, their own name on the cover, whether the family has money or nothing at all. The children do not know she is famous. They know only the Book Lady. Some will grow old and never learn it was her. Two hundred million books, a man told me at a gas pump. Then, seeing the number had defeated me, he made it smaller and heavier at once. "She did it for her daddy," he said. "He never got to read. So she made sure every child after him would." I would like to tell you what happened in my chest when he said that. I do not have the words, and I distrust any man who claims he does. I come from eight hundred years of men who wrote everything down. We cut our names into stone so the centuries could not misplace us. My father was the last of that line before me. A silent man. For forty years I believed his silence was the only thing he ever gave me. In that diner, I remembered something I had put away as nothing. When I was a boy, my father worked among machines loud enough to take a man's hearing, and in time they took most of his. He came home each night with nothing left to say. But there was one year, when I was learning to read and ashamed of how badly it went, that every night, however late he came in, he sat beside me while I read one page aloud. He never said a word. I thought he was only checking that I had done the work. It took me forty years and a stranger's diner to understand. He could not hear me. By then he could barely hear anything. He was not listening to the words. He could not have caught one of them. He was only sitting where a small boy could look up and see that his father had stayed. I carried that year my whole life as proof my father was cold. It was the warmest thing anyone has ever done for me. I just never had the book to prove it, so I let myself forget. There is a bookshop two doors from that diner. I have just bought a thin paperback with a soft-looking bear on the cover. I am mailing it tonight to my father in Japan. He is eighty-one. He still cannot hear. He will not need to. Inside the cover I wrote one line, large enough that he can read it without his glasses: "I finished the page. I always finished the page. Thank you for staying." The Book Lady learned it from her father, who could not read. I learned it from mine, who could not hear. And somewhere in the mountains between us, those two old men would have understood each other completely, and said nothing at all, which is the loudest thing men like them have ever known how to say.
@mattvanswol A 71-year old dying of a heart attack is believable. An 84-year-old man not being declared "dead" long after he died doesn't make any sense.
There are 2.4 million acres in central Idaho with no roads in or out. The Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness is the largest contiguous wilderness in the Lower 48. It's bigger than Yellowstone and Grand Teton combined. The only way in is on foot, horseback, boat, or small plane. In the middle of it is the Salmon River, which carves a canyon deeper than the Grand Canyon. The name comes from early boatmen who could ride the current down, but couldn't fight it back upstream. The Middle Fork has around 100 rapids in 100 miles. Natural hot springs sit along the riverbanks. Native cutthroat trout still swim in it, and they’re healthy enough that anglers travel from around the world to fish them. More than 2,500 miles of trails run through the wilderness. Elk, wolverines, black bears, mountain lions, and wolves all still move through the land the way they always have. In 1995, it became one of the first places in the country where wolves were reintroduced. Most Americans will never set foot here. Many don’t even know it exists. That doesn't make it any less worth keeping wild.
At the 1966 Academy Awards, Lee Marvin stepped up to accept the Oscar for Best Actor. He looked out over Hollywood’s most powerful room and said, “I think half of this belongs to a horse somewhere out in Nevada.” The audience laughed. He meant it. That horse—a gray named Smoky—had shared nearly every scene with Marvin in Cat Ballou. Marvin played a famously drunken gunslinger, barely able to stand, while Smoky matched him beat for beat—leaning, stumbling, and swaying with uncanny comic precision. The performance was so striking that the American Humane Association gave the horse its own award. Marvin, for his part, believed Smoky had earned half the Oscar. That was who he was. What few people in that room fully grasped was where his performance came from. In June 1944, on the island of Saipan, Marvin was a 20-year-old Marine scout sniper with the 4th Marine Division. During a brutal engagement, Japanese machine gun fire tore through his unit. He was hit, the bullet severing his sciatic nerve. He spent over a year recovering in naval hospitals. Only a handful of men from his company survived. He carried that with him for the rest of his life—the grief, the memories, the nightmares. After the war, acting found him almost by accident. While working as a plumber’s assistant, he filled in for a sick actor in a local theater. When people later asked where he learned to act, he didn’t talk about training. “I learned to act in combat,” he said. “Trying to act unafraid when I was terrified.” That truth ran through every role he played. The hardened villains, the broken men, the characters clinging to their last shot at redemption—they weren’t inventions. He understood them from the inside. In Cat Ballou, he played two roles: the staggering, tragic Kid Shelleen and the ruthless Tim Strawn. One film. Two performances. One Oscar—an unusual feat that set him apart. Despite a long career, Marvin kept very little. Just a few meaningful items: his Oscar (which he half-jokingly shared with Smoky), a citation from the National Cowboy Hall of Fame, a gold record for Wand’rin’ Star—a gravelly, unlikely hit in the UK—and a single high-heeled shoe Vivien Leigh once used to hit him in a scene, kept out of fondness. Everything else was just work. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery. His headstone doesn’t mention his films or awards. It reads simply: Lee Marvin PFC U.S. Marine Corps World War II That was what mattered most to him. And somewhere in the American West, the horse that helped him create one of cinema’s most memorable performances remains an unknowing partner in that moment—sharing, in Marvin’s eyes at least, half an Oscar and all of the story behind it. Elon Musk just said the one thing about America they made sure you’d never learn. The one thing that should’ve made you proud, not ashamed. Musk: “After World War 2, the US could have basically taken over the world and any country. Like we got nukes, nobody else got nukes. We don’t even have to lose soldiers. Which country do you want?” One nation held a weapon no civilization had ever possessed. Total monopoly on destruction. No rival. No consequence. No limit. Every empire in history that held that kind of power did the only thing empires know how to do. They took until there was nothing left to take. America had a greater advantage than all of them combined. And rebuilt the nations it just defeated. Musk: “The United States actually helped rebuild countries. So it helped rebuild Europe, it helped rebuild Japan. This is very unusual behavior, almost unprecedented.” Not almost unprecedented. It had never happened. Not once in 5,000 years of recorded civilization. The nation with the power to take everything chose to rebuild instead. Enemies became allies. Rubble became economies. Surrender became partnership. Germany went from ashes to the economic engine of Europe in a single generation. Japan went from unconditional surrender to the third largest economy on earth. Three years after the war, America was flying food into Berlin. Into the capital of the country that just tried to end the free world. That decision reshaped every economy, every alliance, and every trade route on the planet. Billions of people lifted out of poverty over the next half century trace back to one moment. One nation choosing restraint over domination. No other country in history can make that claim. Not one. Musk: “There’s always like, well America’s done bad things. Well of course America’s done bad things, but one needs to look at the whole track record.” Every nation on earth has blood in its history. But the measure of a nation was never its worst chapter. It’s what it does when nobody can stop it. When nobody could stop America, it fed its enemies and rebuilt their cities. You’re being told every day that this country is something to be ashamed of. By people who have no idea what the world looks like without it. Every free market. Every open border for trade. Every democracy that took root outside Europe stands in the shadow of that single decision. The values that built this country didn’t just shape America. They shaped the modern world. AI is about to hand a small number of people a power advantage that makes nuclear monopoly look primitive. 1945 was the first test. AI is the last. That power is going to exist. The only question left is who holds it. The most powerful thing America ever did wasn’t building the bomb. It was having the power to take everything and choosing not to. The people trying hardest to tear that story down have never built a single thing worth defending.
My father cried. I had never seen it. Not once in my life. 70 years old. Post-war generation. He hated America with everything he had. 60 years. Not one kind word. Not one. Then March 2011 came. He sat in front of the TV. Every day. Silent. Fists on his knees. Your Marines digging black mud with their bare hands for Japanese strangers. Your 19-year-old sailors sleeping on cold steel floors so our grandmothers could have beds. Your carrier sailing INTO the radiation while the whole world ran out. He watched all of it. And said nothing. Then one night I passed his room and I froze. Behind that door, my father, the strongest and most stubborn man I ever knew, was sobbing like a child. I couldn't move. I just stood there in the dark hallway, listening, crying with him. Then he said it. One sentence. It tore 60 years apart: "I was wrong about them." Do you understand what that took? A lifetime of hatred. Gone. Destroyed by soldiers carrying soup to strangers. America, you didn't just save our towns. You reached inside my father's chest and healed a wound he swore would never close. He passed away believing in you. Happy 250th. 🇺🇸🇯🇵 An old man who hated you died loving you. My father.
