NEW: The lawsuit claims H3CZ suffered damages because Activision refused to let H3CZ own a spot in the CDL on his own without guaranteed investors. The suit says H3CZ initially sold OpTic to Infinite for $20M in 2017. He then re-acquired the brand but Activision said he needed investors to back his spot in the league, which is why they merged OpTic into Envy.
@charlieINTEL So basically, dude made terrible business decisions and is trying to sue Activision for wanting to work with a more well established team.
@charlieINTEL They wanted groups that could invest pro sports teams type money, they wanted to mirror NFL, NBA type of league….this is why they wanted him to have more investors, he’s got money but not that type of money.
@charlieINTEL It shouldnt of mattered who was backing him, he had the capital to fund it himself, and instead, was forced to give up a majority ownership in a brand hes been a part of for 15? years. Activision has billions, and their lawyers are top tier. Good luck.
@charlieINTEL Might Need To Look Up Merger Band Laws @charlieINTEL!
This is going to get messy, I hope it works out for optic, would be good for the league if the teams own the league, would allow for faster expansion, and more sponsorships in the end. Activision is too greedy to either care or see that, though. Unfortunately, Activision has way more money and reach than @H3CZ, and that will be the difference in the case.
@charlieINTEL He need to tell ‘em to bring dansk back while he’s at it
@charlieINTEL Time to get ready
