It’s underrated what it means for an abuse survivor to establish a boundary. They’ve been violated in ways that took agency away & left to believe they don’t deserve peace that others do. Establishing a boundary says “I matter.” To have that crossed is to say “No you don’t.”
Boundaries for a trauma survivor may seem extreme, until you understand how many people had access to them without their consent and how them feeling safe is about who has access to them now.
A pastor with a theological degree and knowledge of Scripture can lift words out of those Scriptures, pronounce them with authority, and wound those under their care. An ability to articulate theological truths does not mean the speaker is an obedient servant of God.
There are several types of memory challenges for people with ADHD. Most are familiar with long-term memory and working memory, but less well known is something called prospective memory.
