I think it’s a mistake, and I’m against it. The underdog story is always a great story against the backdrop of stars.. Nick Taylor tomorrow is a case in point and these designated events should be as much about developing stars as elevating super stars.

@chambleebrandel The truth is the cut line drama is compelling theater and important to the cadence of a golf tournament. This is particularly so when betting drives so much engagement. No cut tournaments are almost unplayable from a DraftKings perspective.
@chambleebrandel Here's a thought. Keep it at 60 players. The top 40 based on performance and 20 picked at random, outside that top 40. Make the event three player flights and insist that there is 1 random winner in each flight. Maybe this can help those 20 improve and make it into the top 40...
@chambleebrandel I do kind of like the thought of the “non-elevated” events being sort of play ins for the elevated ones.
@chambleebrandel What guaranteed money ?! Will be interesting to hear the media questions to the Tour players who panned LIV for this except none of them would dare ask in case they got banned by the Tour.
@chambleebrandel It’s sport . It’s competitive. There are always winners and losers , that what compels and maintains our interest . They must not go down the no cut route , big mistake if they do.
@chambleebrandel Totally concur. The “problem” with golf is that there are always new stars breaking into the scene. It makes no sense to protect the status quo or you end up like LIV.
@chambleebrandel Agree. The post-Tiger era is upon us like it or not. While there are a few ‘stars’ on Tour, the next superstar or super-story is just a tournament away. John Daly is Exhibit A against a revised format.
@chambleebrandel Slowly copying LIV. Next they will be 54 hole events
