Dear football,
Today, I want to share with you that this season will be my last as a professional footballer. After so many years living my dream, I feel it’s time to start a new chapter in my life.
Being honest, even though I have been preparing myself for this moment, I found it hard to write this letter. After 20 seasons , many people have played an important role in my career.
When I first kicked a ball as a child in Pamplona with my schoolmates, I never imagined the amazing journey ahead. I’m grateful for every moment: the wins, the tough losses, the challenges, and most of all, the people I’ve met and the friendships I’ve made along the way.
To my teammates, coaches, and every staff member at all the clubs I’ve been lucky to be part of, thank you for helping me grow as a person and a player every day. Wearing the shirts of CA Osasuna, Olympique Marseille, Chelsea FC, Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla FC, and representing my country at the biggest stages has been a true privilege. Every moment has meant so much to me…
Unpopular opinion but wearing next seasons kits on ur final home game of the previous season should be banned. Just defeats the purpose of a new season
If they can’t eat halal meat then all I can do is respect it as well as many other people . But to attack Muslims indirectly is not a solution. So ask yourself is this an issue of religion or your emotions.
You can become a non halal restaurant no issue with that but to promote it as “proudly not selling halal “ you are just asking for trouble . Blaming religion is the biggest pussy move you could make . I know Sikhs to be the most generous people in the world .
Yet again they are playing victim and all I can do is laugh .
No one is forcing you to sell halal meat . London is a city with almost 10 million people and about 606 squared miles. You are not the only non halal restaurant to run in London I promise you.
I am a Sikh, and my faith matters to me.
Being pressured to sell halal meat and remove non-halal signs is not just a business issue for me, it is about my religious beliefs and my right to practice them freely.
No one should be forced to compromise their faith to satisfy
