The beautiful Tatev Monastery built in the 9th century, where you get to by the longest and highest cable car ride in the world with an overwhelming view of the humbling Armenian mountains.
Senty Church, Circassia, built 965. The earliest dated church in Russia, it is believed to have been built after Byzantine missionary activities in the medieval Kingdom of Alania.
Towering over the Alazani valley in Georgia's wine-growing region of Kakheti, Alaverdi Monastery was the tallest church in the Caucasus before the modern era. It was built in the 11th c. by King Kvirike, although its dome was rebuilt with Persian influences in the 18th century.
Egikal, one of Ingushetia's many fortified villages, was abandoned in 1944 after Stalinist deportations emptied several districts in the Northeast Caucasus. Medieval watchtowers like these are emblematic of mountain architecture in the Greater Caucasus.
The architecture in Baku's Old City mainly dates back to the 19th century, although structures from the medieval town like parts of the Juma Mosque (right) still remain. In the background is one of the Flame Towers of Baku, dominating its skyline at a height of 182m.
Dargavs is a 14th-16th century necropolis in North Ossetia. Each of these beehive-like buildings is a crypt housing the remains of hundreds of plague victims. According to folk history, those with the disease would be forced to stay in the crypts and await their death inside.

@caucasarchitect @RozierHistorian Thank you so much! I've never seen or heard of the Cathedral of Ani. It's architecture certainly predicts some of the style touches that defined Gothic, (albeit 150 years later!) I'm fascinated at the color, too...the earthiness vs. Gothic gleaming white/gray. Beautiful!
The Church of Profitis Elias in Thessaloniki, which has triconch Athonite plan, seems to have originally been the katholikon of the Nea Moni, which was founded by Makarios Choumnos around 1360
Footage has emerged of Sead Kolasinac fighting off a pair of knife-wielding attackers during an attempted robbery, Mesut Ozil was also involved in the incident. Arsenal have confirmed both players were unharmed.

Inspired by motifs from Makravank monastery, Yerevan's historic Pak Shuka ("covered bazaar") was designed in 1952 by Grigor Aghababyan and Hamazasp Arakelyan. The building was purchased and controversially renovated in the 2010s, removing the famed arches spanning the interior.
