@carolvorders @carolecadwalla Such a great journalist 👏💙
@carolvorders @carolecadwalla Yet another hand wringing exercise on Capitol Hill. Afterwards it's business as usual. The politicians talk tough but act as though they represent business.
"It needs to take an axe to Section 230, the law that gives platforms immunity from lawsuits for hosting harmful or illegal content." I am sorry. but that is the end of free speech as you know it. It is the end of dissent. It is the end to pleas for help. It is a blank check for the government to sanitise and sterilise the internet of anything and everything it deems to be inconvenient for the public to be aware of. And right behind it, if not contained in it, will be the outlawing of strong encryption for personal use. Maybe, just maybe, parents should be taking responsibility for the actions of their children instead of destroying one of the basic bedrocks of democracy. (/me puts on my very thick skin)
@carolvorders @carolecadwalla TikTok is the problem not FB. I don’t know any kids on FB. TikTok is where kids have their own channels and produce content some as young as 7.
@carolvorders @carolecadwalla Y'all, let's talk about this Zuckerberg apology for a sec. When kids dying becomes just another cost of doing business, it's clear something is seriously wrong. A half-assed "sorry" doesn't cut it. Time to hold these big companies accountable. #Zuckerberg
@carolvorders @carolecadwalla Great to see you back @carolecadwalla ❤️
@carolvorders @carolecadwalla Don’t overlook there is a lot of good that also comes out from social media, thx to a mates post he’s raising money for charity thru all those he can connect with and more
@carolvorders @carolecadwalla Done. She's great, she took on that nasty far right Arron Banks. He used the law to try to shut her up 🤬
@carolvorders @carolecadwalla There are endless cover-ups, obfuscations. Everywhere. Money, career, fame are the incentives to keep silent. The ongoing Covid pandemic with hundreds of dead each week now is ignored in the UK! Many infections happen in hospitals affecting the most vulnerable! Media is silent.😢
