The design-system mistake that creates the most cleanup isn't missing components. It's unclear ownership. If nobody knows whether a pattern belongs in product code, the library, or a one-off experiment, you get a very expensive junk drawer. With tokens.
"Just add a prop" is how components quietly become impossible to understand. One prop is fine. Ten props with hidden combinations is a state machine nobody named. Ask me how I know.
I used to think more traffic fixed everything. It mostly made the existing problems louder. More SEO, more ads, more people arriving at the same confusing page.
