This is not true, the AI internally it’s not acting on numbers but it’s able to understand meanings Huge programmers like Salvatore Sanfilippo who built redis are no longer writing or reading code but they invest a lot in learning the good patterns and how the system works You are no longer reading assembly for example, this is removing from you the ability to understand how the machine it’s working internally but it’s no longer useful right now

If you have no real human input no But "prompting" it's just an easier way of doing something Like it became easier to draw once we got graphic design again, if you just say "clone this" or "generate this" it's a 0 effort not creative work but if you take the time to iterate on a concept and create something new that came out of your mind, assisted by AI, maybe you are not good at drawing but you are still doing a creative act

If you are using AI to assemble a game for example and instead of saying "opus one shot me a call of duty clone in the browser" but you take time to refine each aspect, and maybe yes, generate some concepts with AI then work on them and refine them into 3D models I think you are still doing a creative act, you are creating something new, based on your vision I really like @Stefan_3D_AI for example, if you watch some of his videos you will see that he is putting a lot of effort and hours in creating games / demos I agree that you are not becoming an artist by simply asking the model to generate some random thing

As someone who works on a platform with >1M users, I no longer read code or write it by hand, but still I understand logically each piece of it and that's were you can make the difference If I see a something made by the classic lovable vibe coder they completely ignore principles that will become necessary once you scale to more than 50 people

I think this is definitely a problem but it's also based on the user, if you use the AI blindly without understanding what you are doing you can create cool demos and nothing more Even content generation I still think that the AI model is not enough to create something that is worth watching / playing and real artists with taste are important now more than ever, since we are replacing the manual process to create something while creativity is still what differentiate from something good or bad

If you are speaking only about image generation, it's another topic, but generative AI includes chatGPT Even if you are speaking only about image generation, the ability to generate and understand images it's expanding also the general capabilities of the model (vision) Btw I'm happy to engage in the conversation since usually anti AI haters block you at the first question, so you are already a surprising exception

Meanwhile moderna is in one of the last steps of the trial for a cancer vaccine that was co developed with AI OpenAI and Anthropic are publishing mathematical breakthroughs that will help us improve energy transportation and storage and advance the human technology in every sector Thanks to AI we are developing cars that can drive autonomously and we already reached a safety score higher than human Neuralink is developing with AI chips that can let paralyzed people talk trough simply thinking or controlling a computer using only the mind and the list can go on, while we are still at the beginning. If you think AI it's just generating images, than in that case you are simply a retard and you should start studying instead of repeat the same 2/3 things you hear from the anti ai tribalism

@nemui_nekoooo Exactly, shit soulless products existed even before AI if the artists start exploring the tools they will understand how much they can do with them, but it will take a bit more time like they were against graphic design initially
