I empathize with perpetrators as well as secondary victims. Not popular, but Forensic Psychiatry is like that. Not excusing crime.

@LindaAbbotuuuc @TheCarolErskine @defense_diaries @conlin_lauren IMO: - one Psychiatrist made a prescribing error & should be reported (specific training will be mandated & practice area may be limited) - other Psychiatrists prescribed okay but independently - this HAS to change. 🫂 Carers are left being ones with the facts, & they're ignored

@TheCarolErskine @defense_diaries @conlin_lauren @TheCarolErskine in Mass, did this case HAVE to be tried? Who does it serve to send her to jail? Who concocted this narrative then tried to prove it. Definitely not a therapist. I was a clinician in Forensic Psychiatry and also Mother-Baby Psych. This is a medical issue.

I know what happens after this - in jail/prison or psych hosp - it's just trauma for the rest of her life. She will never forgive herself. It is a harrowing experience to work with women like this. You know, Judge.

@TheEmilySee The woman I worked very closely with who had killed her son was just so traumatised. I had to tell her where her son was. I had to tell her over and over again in a 3 month period because she kept slipping into psychosis as a trauma reaction It was so traumatic for staff, police.

@TheEmilySee You may need to not watch this case. It's the process that is the problem. This case should never have been brought. Prosecutor is disconnected from her emotions - is it so she can try the case? Who is it serving to jail her? Lindsay will carry this for life. It's hell. Awful.

@TheEmilySee Maybe you wrote notes this detailed because your son has very specific needs? Usually notes like that would indicate high anxiety - routines & structure help contain the overwhelming. I was a clinician in this area & had PND with both kids. Strict routines helped me cope. xx

@DoctorTurtleboy Whoever the Judge would approve. This process should never ever have occurred. It should be a lesson to everyone that **the process needs changing**. These situations among the most traumatising I experienced in Forensic Psychiatry and they require different judicial processes.

@suspiciousauce @blankspaceerin What is maternity leave in US. In Aus it depends on your award what you get paid and for how long. But you can take up to 12 months unpaid leave and your job cannot be filled. That's if you have a permanent position of course.
