"After listening to the legitimate concerns of many of you, I have decided that Ronna McDaniel will not be an NBC News contributor," Cesar Conde tells staff
"I want to personally apologize to our team members who felt we let them down," Conde wrote. "While this was a collective recommendation by some members of our leadership team, I approved it and take full responsibility for it."
Conde added: "We continue to be committed to the principle that we must have diverse viewpoints on our programs, and to that end, we will redouble our efforts to seek voices that represent different parts of the political spectrum."
@brianstelter A “diverse viewpoint" shouldn’t mean hiring an election denier, one who lied continually to their own base & who tried to bully Michigan into stopping certification of the 2020 election. She also supported the insurrection… i question Conde’s decision making skills.
@brianstelter Different parts of the political spectrum is understandable, but keep it to the normal spectrum, don't stray into the ultra viole(n)t.
@brianstelter Dear @NBCNews : Your obligation is to the objective truth, the facts, and to expose what is untrue. Not to platform liars as though their perspective might be valid. If it's a lie, it's not valid and should be exposed. How is that not obvious?
@brianstelter How is that going to happen after the treatment McDaniel got? And I don't even like her. This is bad all around.
@brianstelter How many people who oppose the CIA and FBI do they have on their panel to go with all the “former” CIA and FBI agents. The corporate press is the enemy of the people
@brianstelter That statement has an odor of mendacity
@brianstelter Different viewpoints ✅ People who try to disenfranchise voters, overturn legal elections and are proven chronic liars. ❎
