What's the problem when almost half the Punjabi population is Hindu? If you add Haryana then it maybe 75% or more? When was the last time Punjab had a Hindu CM? The same pitch now wears an IT, law, finance, medicine and science costume. The error is always the same. A watch loop gets sold as a write loop. Watching for a missing file, a red test, an unmatched invoice or an odd result is not the same as dispatching, merging, filing, paying, prescribing or publishing. One can sit behind a named reviewer. The other is a business action. Your staff are already using AI. Can you prove it is being governed? A fluent thread is not proof. “I still glance at it” is not a control. Chat is not the record. This is how GRC dies. Teaching a task is treated as policy. Portal login is treated as integration. One agent “runs the practice” with no owner. Money, messages, movement and professional acts share a loop with the inbox. Credentials, personal information, privileged material and regulated records go into a public tool. AI may analyse, draft, classify, recommend and propose. Named people remain accountable. Model output is not a business action until it has been reviewed. Govern the work before the tool runs it. Four constraints before you schedule anything: 1. Inventory — tools, use cases, information, owners. You cannot govern what you have not identified. 2. Editable surfaces — statute and hard numbers stay read-only. Policy may be proposed, not silently changed. A person still publishes. 3. Output-to-action — draft is not send. Flag is not dispatch. A note is not a consultation. A figure is not a result. 4. Named review for external effect — money, messages, movement, filings, clinical acts, publication. Before anything is pasted in: Green is public and general, then verify. Amber is internal or commercial — approved route, named approver, keep a record. Red is personal, confidential, privileged, credentials, bank detail, regulated files. Public tools are the wrong door. Distinguish AI use from AI dependency. If a qualified person cannot rebuild the work without the bot, you hollowed the profession. Ask every pitch, including this one: What is the record after the thread closes? What is the agent forbidden to do even if it is confident? Where does a wrong send get stopped? Can a qualified human still do the job if the bot is down or wrong? If the answer is “it logs into the same portals I already use,” that is a session cookie and a story. Bots replace busywork. They do not replace accountability. Use AI. Govern it. Systemise it.
