Unpopular opinion ⚠️ Belfast is an uninspiring city to visit, Londonderry has beautiful walls to visit but large parts of its tourist industry is deeply antagonistic towards its own heritage. The coast from Magilligan Point to Carrickfergus is however spectacular.

@MrVirtueSignal How is Derry's tourism offering "deeply antagonistic towards its own heritage"? The city has a strong plantation history- that is rightly celebrated. But also a atrong history frm nationalist perspective - also rightly celebrated. Neithr offering besmirches or castigates the othr
@bradley_steve My own experience of a walking tour of the city was utterly appalling, the "guide" made absolutely no attempt at balance. A real shame as I brought a visitor to the city and we simply walked off.
@MrVirtueSignal And that anecdote equates to evidence of universal "deep antagonism" towards the city's own heritage, does it? 🙄 #DramaQueen
@bradley_steve It was certainly obvious to this "guide" that there was a non-indigenous group in the city and that anything which was reflective of that tradition had no more merit than a stain on a shirt. I'd say that's a problem for tourism in the city.
