This was Assembly of God Pentecostal churches in the South during 80-90’s. I’ve seen some absolutely crazy shit. Everything from flailing and or fainting / swooning, I’ve seen one speak in tongues and sometimes… another will translate the “gibberish” (oddly enough it sounds Arabic or Semitic in tongue styles), I’ve watched people fall to the floor and lay there for 30 like a strong dose of heroin, I’ve seen wild ass stuff in the name of Christian faith… all but snake handling… respectively. It’s a large reason why I’m agnostic today. I will say this though, about myself even though it’s not relevant. I was a hardlined atheist. A denier in all god claims. As this NüSkool anti Jew movement had taken foothold, it’s softened my heart. I no longer claim I know with absolute certainty that god is not real. As a now agnostic stance, I kinda wish it was true…. Objectively. So there is still hope, even for myself… the heathen / unbeliever.
