Ok, so, Refsnyder hasn’t played infield basically since 2017. That explains playing him over Masa in OF against LH. But If Masa is so bad defensively that he’s not going to play over Refsnyder against RH pitching (227 / 302 / 328 career) then yeah; another reason to fire Chaim
Could someone explain why Garrett Cooper isn’t on the Red Sox yet? Do they really believe that all Dalbec needs is 100 consistent at bats? I’m more patient with homegrown talent than most, but it’s almost May, the team is competitive and shorthanded, and they deserve better.
I wonder if Red Sox have Valdez start practicing 1B, and shift him over there when Grissom is ready? He played 6 games there in AAA in 2022. When Grissom is back, they send Valdez to AAA for a 10 day crash course? Put Grissom at 2B and replace Dalbec ABs w/Valdez. Better lineup.

This is why I’m in the extreme minority who’d like to see them stick with Hamilton at SS for at least a couple more weeks. He was good enough in the minors and has enough offensive upside as a SS, that it could pay big dividends if he could stick there.

I’m very ready for Refsnyder to replace Reyes. I never want to see Reyes at 3B ever again. If they don’t think Dalbec should start at 3B when Devers is out, they need to get him off the roster. They have 3 other 3B in Worcester, call up one of them.
Can’t let the day get away without adding to the plaudits for Tanner Houck and the Red Sox last night. Baseball is a 162 game season and nights like that one are why I try to watch almost all of them. What an old school gem.
Red Sox should not be using Jansen in 1-run games right now. He’s still basically in spring training and perhaps not even 100%. Use him for the cheap saves, not the real ones.
