Attention BARTA Customers! With the Independence Day holiday being on a Saturday this year, our service schedule looks a little different. Friday, July 3, 2026 will operate on a Saturday schedule. Regular service will resume on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
Route 16 – Broadcasting Square Highlight of the Week! 🚍 This route travels to West Reading, Knitting Mills, Paper Mill Road, Reading Health Rehab Hospital, Broadcasting Square, Penn State Berks, VA Outpatient Clinic, and a late night trip to R.M. Palmer Co.
BARTA will hold a public hearing for the BARTA Special Services shared-ride fare increase. Wednesday, July 1, 2026 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM BARTA Administrative Office: 1700 N. 11th Street, Reading, PA 19601 In-person or virtual. Comments may be submitted by email, phone, or mail.

Route 3 – Temple via Kutztown Road Highlight of the Week! 🚌 This route travels to North 9th Street, North Reading Plaza shops, Kutztown Road, Berks PA CareerLink, Temple, Muhlenberg Library, and Laurel Pointe Senior Living Community.
Before it became a mall, this site in Muhlenberg Township was home to the Reading Fairgrounds Speedway, which drew crowds for decades. Boscov’s opened here in 1965, and the mall followed about 15 years later as the area fully shifted to retail.
On Friday June 5, 2026, 5th Street and Penn Street will be CLOSED for the World War II Parade from 11:00am until approx. 3:00pm. See our website for detour details: bartabus.com/news-updates/w…
