@jtlope @barrymc0ckner @circusbass @EduOverStadiums I hope you care about more than revenue for the owner, because no matter how much revenue #Athletics owner #JohnFisher brings in, he will pocket the profit and WILL NOT meaningfully reinvest into team payroll. Ever. A leopard can’t change their spots..
@serenity67 @jtlope @circusbass @EduOverStadiums I don’t agree with your characterization of Fisher. I think he was dealt a tough hand in a very fickle market in Oakland with a dilapidated stadium and very challenging prospects to build a new one. I highly doubt the profitability from his tenure with the A’s was very strong.
@serenity67 @jtlope @circusbass @EduOverStadiums The Giants are suited to fill the void perfectly well. They have plenty of open seats for the regular season. Oakland and surrounding area demographics and culture has shifted, I don’t think it needs 2 NFL, NBA, NHL or MLB teams. LV is a more viable location than 2 in the bay
@barrymc0ckner @jtlope @circusbass @EduOverStadiums Don’t be an as.shole
@serenity67 @jtlope @circusbass @EduOverStadiums I think what I said is perfectly reasonable. I happen to know that many former raiders fans are now 49er fans already. Most of the new generations are by default. Give it some time. SF is 10 miles away and the Giants have one of the best parks in pro sports.

@barrymc0ckner @jtlope @circusbass @EduOverStadiums You’re treading on a block.
@serenity67 @barrymc0ckner @circusbass @EduOverStadiums If you are allergic to facts, shouldn’t get personal.
@jtlope @barrymc0ckner @circusbass @EduOverStadiums You don’t tell fans grieving the loss of their 56 year franchise to basically get over it & embrace the team who’s owner spent years and a lot of effort towards strangling the #Athletics in an effort to drive them from the market. You don’t do it.
@serenity67 @jtlope @circusbass @EduOverStadiums Well again I am sorry for being blunt. My contention is the A’s won an awful lot and turnover was still not great. I think the Oakland exit was near inevitable due to the disfunction in local government and the fact that the MLB didn’t see 2 teams in the market as optimal

@serenity67 @jtlope @circusbass @EduOverStadiums I don’t agree that Fisher was trying to tank the team because they won the 8th most games over the century and I understand and acknowledge the financial situation they faced. Ultimately he is a caretaker for one of 30 MLB franchises and you can bet the MLB favored relocation
@serenity67 @jtlope @circusbass @EduOverStadiums The thing is I can relate to the Fisher complaints because the owner of my 1A team is criticized on the same grounds For the small revenue teams large long term player contracts both in terms of revenue return and on-field success, are often a net-detriment, not a boon
@barrymc0ckner @serenity67 @circusbass @EduOverStadiums In the end, major league sports franchises are businesses. I am a Padre fan. They spent a ton of $$ last season, this season had to cut payroll. In the end, teams need to be sustainable
