Here is how ESPN's Shae Peppler Cornette announced the news of O.J. Simpson's death on SportsCenter. The show proceeded to bring in Jeremy Schaap to discuss Simpson's legacy.
Jeremy Schaap offered his reflection on O.J. Simpson's death. "Anyone who has seriously looked at the evidence... would have to come to the conclusion that he was a murderer. And so am I filled with sorrow today? I'm not."
@awfulannouncing White people look out for each other though...
@awfulannouncing Damn @JeremySchaap !! Loved your father!! WTH SON?!…couldn’t get a line I could hear you saying like-“… complicated legacy…”, or even.. “ fallen hero…” had to go here huh?! Damn
@awfulannouncing Didn't a jury look at the evidence and find OJ not guilty? Why have a jury if Jeremy Schapp can just set aside the verdict and pronounce people a murderer?
@awfulannouncing Actually, the "evidence" is pretty murky when you actually take a look at it. For instance, how does someone go from murdering two people with a knife to LAX in less than an hour without any blood on himself, his clothes, his house, his laundry, his pipes?
@awfulannouncing The jury seriously looked at the evidence buddy
@awfulannouncing I think most people would feel more comfortable about the evidence that was collected if chief racist Mark Fuhrman wasn’t the one who discovered the first bit of it
@awfulannouncing We didn’t do this for Robert Blake…and OJ wouldn’t have mattered 1/100th as much as he did if he was white or Nicole was Black. Why didn’t Jeremy speak on that part? Bobby Fisher might’ve had a point about him and his father.
@awfulannouncing White people trying to be the moral authority will always be comedy to me.
And this here is my problem with white America. When a case involves a Black person almost obviously being mistreated, white America wants us to sit for the Law. When the Law then sides with the white perpetrator, white America says "The Law has spoken". But now when the Law (YOUR LAW) frees a man, the Law isn't the real adjudicator. What exactly is the standard??
