In 1995, there were around 450 Aboriginal Health Workers in the Northern Territory. It is now closer to 50. Workforce reform is needed to improve outcomes in these communities.
Healthcare productivity will be enabled if the health workforce is supported to work to top of scope of practice. Changes in scope must be informed by clinical evidence.
