I just finished reading this book about Hitler's rise to power and how it was aided by a number of establishment right-wing figures in Germany who were playing cynical games and should've known better. Eerie parallels to the US today. Highly recommended. newyorker.com/magazine/2024/…
@atrupar In 1923, Nazi Party Chm. "Hitler" failed at violently overthrowing his Bavarian govt. While serving 9 mo.'s prison, he realized that he'd gain power by winning elections. To create an appealing persona, Hitler assembled a propaganda team & used mass media, as did Traitor Trump !!
@atrupar Remember, the Holocaust didn’t start with gas chambers. It started with politicians dividing the people with “us vs. them”. It started with intolerance and hate speech. It started when people stopped caring, became desensitized, and turned a blind eye. Remember.
