Breaking: Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 2 will serve as the co-main event on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson card on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. The fight will be for Taylor’s undisputed gold at 140 and will be contested over 10, 2 minute rounds. Taylor beat Serrano in an all-time classic back in 2022. First women’s boxing bout to headline MSG. Now they’ll run it back live on Netflix and in front of what is expected to be a massive crowd in Texas.
Amazing for boxing, but also for women’s sports as a whole. Whether you’re a fan of the main event or not, Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 2 is the perfect co-main. Netflix will provide a real opportunity for these two fights to be two of the most watched fights of all time. Netflix has 260 million subscribers. ESPN+ has 25.2 million subscribers. DAZN has 20 million subscribers. Some crazy numbers. Netflix getting into live combat sports is a gamechanger.
@arielhelwani Let's be honest no one... I MEAN NO ONE!!!!!! is going to watch this PPV
@arielhelwani From a legacy and viewership standpoint, this is the fight, but Serrano relinquishing her WBC belt as soon as Skye becomes the mandatory, then saying she will only defend her title over 12 3 minute rounds and now fighting Katie over 10 rounds is awfully suspicious 🦆🦆
@arielhelwani We have to get back to boxing PPVs with full cards of great fights. One fight isn’t enough to justify a high price tag especially when the UFC is putting on great fight cards.
@arielhelwani Is 10 2 minute rounds normal for a women's title match in boxing? Are 2 minute rounds normal in women's boxing? Pretty sure even bottom barrel pro bouts are 3 minute rounds for men.
@arielhelwani Wow. I’m more excited for this than the main event ngl
@arielhelwani Lmao we will be watching the Manchester card instead
@arielhelwani He’ll yeah !! I’m excited for this !
