WhatsApp's "end-to-end encrypted" promise may be a lie. 💣 A new class action alleges Meta let employees and Accenture contractors read user messages via a backdoor, prompting a US Dept. of Commerce investigation. "No one else, not even WhatsApp"… except hundreds of reviewers with full access to usernames, profiles, and message content. Reminder: if the source code isn't open for independent verification, "end-to-end encrypted" is a trust statement — not a technical guarantee.
