Teenager sentenced to 25 years in prison for running down classmate over stolen marijuana
📢📢Context/Details 📢📢 25 Oct 2018, Maryland Nicholas Kyle Hoffman, 18, intentionally accelerated and ran over 16-year-old Logan Dandley before fleeing the scene. Hoffman, who was 17 at the time, was charged as an adult with attempted first-degree murder and found guilty in August Dandley survived his severe injuries and on Monday Hoffman was sentenced to life in prison, which was later suspended to all but 25 years. Police documents show that Dandley had allegedly stolen marijuana from a friend of Hoffman's and authorities believe Hoffman then ran over Dandley as payback. Both students attended South River High School in Edgewater, Maryland. In a statement, State's Attorney Wes Adams called it 'one of the most callous displays of violence that I have witnessed in my 22 years as a prosecutor.
