Before there are a bunch of rumors/ chatter/ whatever out there. Yes, I had a rare vasculitis episode 3yrs ago. (Autoimmune flair up) I had some impairments hear, vision, balance issues right after. I fully recovered. All good. Moving on. See you at the 2022 NY Marathon w/Thorn
@aplusk I have Vasculitis(GPA) myself I'm happy that you're feeling good! To clarify for those wondering about Vasculitis. You can have a flare up- as what Ashton went through 3 years ago- and then go into remission. Please read more info here: vasculitisfoundation.org
@aplusk Happen to have a tick bite some time before that? Many #autoimmune illnesses are caused by #lymeDisease which goes undiagnosed cause #CDC’s test is for acute #lyme only & results in 71% false negatives. They knowingly made testing to fail & millions to suffer undiagnosed.
@aplusk First, I’m sorry to hear about your condition. As it turns out, I am a pharmaceutical scientist working on new drugs to treat several inflammatory disorders that includes vasculitis. DM me if you are interested in patient advocacy or want to know more
@aplusk I had this in 2012. Attacked the vessels supplying my cervical spine. I couldn’t walk and my started organs shut down. Lost feeling in one side of body. Chemo and Steroids that year, maintenance methotrexate the year after. Fine now, other than clonus in my foot. Scary stuff
@aplusk Glad you are better. A friend of mine was just hospitalized with the same illness
