90% of managing a project is really just: • Setting clear expectations • Maintaining constant communication • Following up It's the "boring stuff" that makes all the difference.
@antonia_mdprjct Have the hard discussions up front before any contracts are signed 🙌🏻
@antonia_mdprjct Agreed! People are always shocked how many times we follow up with our subs each phase. But guess what, we build faster than anyone else on our budgets…
@antonia_mdprjct I tend to run into problems when the folks outside of our perview (like the state level AJH) has no skin in the game & does not believe in a sense of urgency. Nothing worse then when the players are on the field ready to play & the referee does not show.
@antonia_mdprjct Boring perhaps, but few people appreciate just how much knowledge and experience is summarized in the execution of “set clear expectations” 😳
My Friday 2-week look ahead meeting with the GC only took 45 minutes yesterday. Because we have been doing those 3 things for the last 3 months. Started looking out to the next 3 trades to mobilize and making sure their submittals are in, any VE options that need to be clarified, anyway to pull them forward.
