Most people are afraid of failing. Musk is only afraid of failing in a way that kills everything. There’s a difference. You have limited time. Some things will work, some won’t. If you’re paralyzed waiting for certainty, you get nothing done. A rocket explodes? Fine, as long as you learn something. A product flops? Doesn’t matter if the company survives. Public embarrassment? Irrelevant. The only failures that count are the ones you can’t recover from. Everyone else is optimizing to avoid looking stupid. Musk optimizes for total output, knowing most attempts will fail and that’s completely fine. Stop trying to have a perfect track record. Start trying to win more than you lose.
