Christian, when you've been sinned against, you have a duty to put to death all bitterness, wrath, anger, and slander against your brother in Christ. The onus is upon you to be kind and tenderhearted toward your repentant brother, forgiving him as God has forgiven you in His Son.
Listening to @brighthearthpod's episode, "Fighting Like Christians." Fantastic treatment of the handling of sin, repentance, and forgiveness between two believing parties. They speak specifically to husband/wife, but the principle carries through to all. overcast.fm/+4lg4WQKuY
@anahnemoo So your saying I can hold unforgiveness? That gives way to bitterness which will taken root and destroy many.
@anahnemoo I'm just going to leave this here. I hope you watch it. I've watched it many times (bc I need reminders) youtu.be/YdmG87-skWw
@anahnemoo I heard someone say that you should tell them that you wish to forgive them and ask them if they would like to be forgiven. They said that was the path to true reconciliation.
@anahnemoo That doesn't negate telling our brother (or sister) what hurt us, w/kindness & the goal of helping him see his sin so he can repent of & turn from it. We need to recognize that we all hurt others (inadvertently or not). We also need to be receptive when we're told about our sin.
@anahnemoo This entire thread and comment sections has been very edifying to read through and consider. Just sayin’ lol.
