I make a point to send ARCs with a note letting readers know I offer them freely and without expectation. Sending an ARC doesn’t entitle authors to terms and conditions. How ppl think demanding reviews on strict deadlines is a way to cultivate support idk 🤷🏻♀️
Then, I got into the prestigious @NFTSFilmTV, and was able to take up the (very expensive) place thanks to a generous full fee scholarship from @BAFTA, who've championed me from the start & without whom I would simply not have been able to take up my MA in Producing.
OKAY, I'm doing it folks! Here's how I got by £££ as an independent producer, who came neither from wealth, nor from London (grew up in South Yorkshire). It's important to say that I wish producing were a sustainable career in itself at every level. But this has been the reality.
Question for film folks. Given the current climate, and as a producer who doesn’t come from wealth, would it be helpful to literally anyone if I broke down all the different means of earning £££ I’ve done alongside producing over the years to make it sustainable?
